Are you upgrading your old Firestick to a new one or planning to give your old Firestick device to someone? You have to deregister your Amazon account from the device. Deregistering your Firestick removes your Amazon account and any associated benefits, such as Prime Video. You can deregister your Amazon account within the Firestick device easily by heading to the account settings.
How to Deregister Firestick/Fire TV
1. Connect your Firestick to a proper WiFi connection.
2. Pick up your Firestick remote and press the Home button by pointing the remote towards the center of the TV.
3. Once the Home screen appears, move directly to the Settings menu at the right corner of the screen.
4. Below the Settings menu, click on the Account & Profile Settings tile.

5. Click on the Amazon Account option from the list of profile settings.
6. Select the Deregister option to deregister your Amazon account from your Firestick.

7. For confirmation, a pop-up will appear on your TV screen. Read the information carefully and select the Deregister option once again.
A message stating Deregistering your Fire TV Stick will appear on the screen. Now, the Firestick will return to its sign-in screen.
FAQ
Deregistering does not remove all the personal data. It will delete only a few data that are associated with the Amazon account. If you need to delete all the data before giving it to someone, resetting your Firestick is the best choice.
