Even though the Amazon App Store is loaded with tons of apps, it lacks a few popular applications like Kodi. In that situation, you can sideload it to the apk version of the respective app. To sideload third-party apps, you need to install a sideloading tool on your Firestick. Here, we have used the Downloader app. You can find this app on the Amazon App Store. Once installed, you need to configure the Firestick system settings in favor of Downloader to install the 3rd party apps.
How to Install and Setup Downloader App on Firestick
1. Connect your Firestick to a stable WiFi. Downloader app requires a strong internet connection to sideload apps.
2. Once connected, press the Home button to return to the home screen. Head to the Search icon, type Downloader app using the on-screen keyboard and search for it.
3. Choose the Downloader app and hit the Download icon. If you haven’t downloaded it previously, tap on the Get icon.
As we said earlier, you need to modify the system setting to sideload apps.
4. After installing the Downloader app, return to the home screen and head to the gear-shaped Settings icon.
5. Under the Settings menu, scroll down to the last and select My Fire TV.
6. From the list of options, locate and select the Developer Options.
7. Select Install unknown apps and enable the permission for the Downloader app.

4. Within a few minutes, the APK will be downloaded on your Firestick.

How Can I Update Sideloaded Apps on Firestick?
Unlike the apps downloaded from the App Store, you can’t update the apps directly. You need to uninstall and res-install the app with the latest version apk URL.
Instead of Downloader, you can use the “APKUpdater” app to update the sideloaded apps. Unfortunately, you can’t install it from the Amazon App Store. You have to sideload it with the Downloader app (https://urlsrt.io/updater). Once installed, launch it, and the application will let you update all the sideloaded apps easily.
